Technical Analyst

We are currently seeking a Technical Analyst to join our growing our Architecture team. The role will be key in supporting the definition, development and delivery of projects that will deliver large scale technical developments that will be used by customers and train operating companies across the UK. 

The ideal person will be:

A professional person ideally with a degree qualification and some experience in areas of software analysis and design and who has successfully worked across a number of technical deliveries. They will be keen to learn, and committed to upskilling in relevant architectural areas to successfully deliver sizeable technical projects.

You will be Degree qualified in technology, plus formal training, and adequate experience in similar roles or have a year or more of vocational experience, demonstrating development through involvement in a series of progressively more demanding roles, and the acquisition of appropriate specialist technological knowledge.

You will also have

  • A year or more experience in technical and data analysis, and authoring architecture artefacts

  • Ability to present challenging or unfamiliar information in a clear, confident manner and draw out technical issues using architecture methods

  • The ability to clearly communicate complex technical information to a broad range of staff / customers / stakeholders

  • The ability to use own initiative to determine how to approach and resolve technical issues

  • Knowledge and experience using multiple of the following: UML, Archimate, systems diagrams, interface diagrams, infrastructure diagrams, network diagrams

  • Experience with the Sparx EA architecture tool

  • Hands on experience in API development and service architecture

  • Technical understanding of the systems used by RDG

  • A knowledge of service management processes

Financial System Administrator

  1. Troubleshooting end-user issues and workflow issues.
  2. Responsible for maintaining updates to the Department, Nominal & Items Master files.
  3. Meeting end-user requirements for saved searches, reports & dashboards.
  4. Maintaining the Approvers master list.
  5. Updating finance guides.
  6. Updating end-user guides
  7. Meeting end-user training requirements for new staff.
  8. Prior to system upgrades;
    1. Completing UAT
    2. Preparing TB & Aging reconciliations for sign off.
  9.  From a finance perspective, managing users and licences
  10. Investigating features, helping users make better use of the system and working with support to come up with solutions to improve efficiency, control and scope.

RSP Accreditation Analyst

London EC1A, Competitive salary & Benefits

We are looking for an analyst to accredit each machine that is presented to RSP for accreditation.   The post holder needs to review and ensure compliance to RSP Standards for new Ticket Issuing Systems (TIS) designs and modifications to already accredited TIS by:

  • Defining and documenting changes to functional specifications and processes.
  • Analyzing TIS specifications and specifying changes to supplier testing to prove the integrity and conformance of a software release to RSP standards, ensuring consistency with other system changes and minimizing risks to RSP systems.
  • Supporting testing, test planning and change management including reviewing of test material to provide assurance of suitable coverage of business processes and supporting all phases of testing and pilots.
  • Through the use of the internal systems generate and maintain records of testing and issues arising. Produce and issue documentation supporting the accreditation process.
  • Defining changes to processes and procedures ensuring all users are aware of the changes that impact them, reviewing documentation from suppliers for TIS changes & to ensure implemented changes meet RSP’s requirements for probity of settlement and that changes between systems are consistent.
  • Monitoring TIS Suppliers' progress against development plans, accreditation plans and implementation of TIS versions.
  • Reviewing RSP Standards documentation as required 

The postholder should possess the skills to:

  • analyze technical processes, proposals and identify risks, as well as being able to work through business requirements & functional specifications in order to translate these into test cases
  • have an understanding of electronic point of sale (EPOS) systems in a wide area network is desirable, whilst previous experience of various testing environments and configurations would be useful.
  • Systems analysis and design experience in implementing EPOS or financial systems and accrediting system changes against documentation would be an advantage, whilst having the ability to interrogate data using queries or tools.
  • Good working knowledge of Word and Excel are essential, whilst a working knowledge of other Microsoft office products, html and xml would be desirable.
  • Attention to detail and a positive attitude towards change and innovation, which seeks continuous improvement to processes and documentation, are essential in this role.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to tailor language and the written word according to the audience, and the ability to undertake a number of different activities concurrently and to progress them to plan, are also key requirements.

Accounts Payable and P2P (Purchase-to-Pay) Clerk

We are now looking for an experienced and capable Accounts Payable person.

In brief, the areas performed under this role are:

  • purchase ledger input(volume: c. 800 invoices per month)
  • including precise matching to purchase orders
  • guiding users on how best to raise purchase orders (and GRN them) on NetSuite
  • collaboration with users to iron out any purchase order and invoicing discrepancies
  • a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is essential
  • supplier reconciliations
  • staff expense claims processing
  • credit card expense control

We use NetSuite as our finance system (we went live in March 2017).  NetSuite is already in use in 40,000 organisations in over 100 countries and has been the fastest growing top 10 financial

The ideal candidate will:

  • have AAT or equivalent
  • have significant vocational experience of performing in payables,
  • demonstrate experience in a fairly complex environment where business expenditure is driven through a formalised purchase to pay process
  • be able to demonstrate their understanding of the ‘3 way’ matching principle (Purchase Order – Goods Receipt – Supplier Invoice)
  • be committed to good customer service
  • enjoy working with non-finance staff to guide them and help them understand the process
  • have experience of working with up-to-date accounting systems (essential), ideally NetSuite.   Of course, full training on NetSuite will be given.

London Agreements Manager – Customer Portfolio Directorate

We are currently seeking a London Agreements Manager, a new role within our Commercial team. This role will be key in supporting the effective operation of commercial agreements between RDG, TOCs, TfL and other London partners, to deliver significant sums of revenue to our members. This role will be a key part of the wider Commercial team and the successful candidate will need to grasp complex challenges and legacy agreements to support commercial negotiations and develop solutions.

Therefore, we are looking for an experienced, highly motivated person who is commercially focused and highly analytical. The role requires a highly organised individual who can demonstrate the ability to learn quickly, work with and coach others to achieve their goals, and can also be hands-on as required to get things done.

The ideal person will be:

Professionally qualified with a relevant degree/postgraduate qualification, plus broad relevant managerial experience; or hold substantial relevant experience and proven success in Commercial roles.

It is essential you are able to demonstrate experience or competence of:

  • Commercial and financial acumen;
  • Highly analytical, with strong experience of undertaking and delivering detailed analysis to senior stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of the rail franchise environment, ideally gained through experience of working in a Train Operating Company or Owning Group environment;
  • Good working knowledge of rail industry revenue management systems and processes;
  • Knowledge of the existing commercial agreements between RDG, member TOCs, TfL, London Councils, and Police Forces.

Working closely the Marketing and Technical teams and our agencies to deliver the best Customer Experience across our digital products.

  • Supporting digital campaigns across paid and organic.
  • Help with gathering briefs from the business
  • You will have some experience of project management and ideally some experience of ecommerce/digital and mobile app projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate to all levels of organisations
  • Effective stakeholder management in multi-stakeholder environment
  • Able to negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers
